Join L.E.A.P. to end the war on drugs

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) want's to end drug prohibion. We can do it together. We need to make our voices heard by our lawmakers if it is ever to happen.

It seems that for decades now our goverernment has had it's head in the sand when it comes to the subject of drugs in this country. Apparently we learned nothing from alcohol prohibition. They ignore the problems created by the drug war and think they can just throw money at it and it will go away.

People will use drugs whether they're legal or not. In fact, since drug prohibition went into effect in 1937, the use of illegal drugs has climbed steadily. More people than ever have tried marijuana. There is a higher (pun intended) proportion of habitual drug users in this country than in the netherlands where drugs are legal.

The war on drugs is also a war on minorities. That is how it started out and that is how it has remained. The percentage of blacks in this country who use illegal drugs is very similar to that of whites, yet 75% of people sentenced to prison on drug charges are African Americans.

The war on drugs leads law enforcement to infringe on our constitutional RIGHTS. The very priciples on which our country was founded. Illegal search and seizure leading the pack. Law upon law have been passed to make it easier for police to bust drug users that have eaten away at our fourth ammendment rights.

We can do something about it. LEAP has an initiative to send to congress to end the war on drugs. Please sign up. We need as many signatures as we can get.

Get involved. Write your representatives. Donate what you can to the nonprofit organizations who are working to rid us of the destructive drug policies that hold us captive.

LEAP is actively presenting law enforcement's position on lifting drug prohibition to the federal government.

NORML has form letters for you to send to your representatives concerning current issues impacting the legality of marijuana recreationally, medicinally, and industrially.

TaxCannabis.org is currently working on getting marijuana legalized in California.

Residents of California. You have a unique opportunity. Over 800,000 signatures were collected to put a vote to legalizing marijuana in your state. You simply MUST get out and vote this November. Let nothing stand in your way of passing that law. Tell every person you know.

Prohibiton must end! It has got to stop! How much more damage and suffering and punishment must be put on the American people before this senseless war is put to an end? The incarceration rate in this country is FIVE TIMES that of any other country in the world. Land of the free MY ASS!

I am so sick of the corporate greed, political scandal, and "news" propaganda. We need to take our country back. Take our rights back. Our freedoms have been taken away from us so gradually that some people haven't sat up and took notice.

We are supposed to be free to life, liberty and the pusiut of happiness. The ONLY time these rights are to be limited is when we infringe on another citizen's rights to do the same. Stop arresting and prosecuting nonviolent drug offenders. Drug abuse is a health and social issue NOT a legal issue.

I could go on all day....Sign the petition please!
